Partner Acro, aka Partner Yoga, is one of the newest forms of fitness training. It utilizes the principles of Yoga and healing arts, then combines them with the excitement of acrobatics. It is a fantastic form of exercise to develop core strength, balance, and flexibility.
It’s origins are from Montreal, Canada, and many of the skills used in partner acro are also used as a precursor to tricks performed by circus artists. If you have ever been to a circus performance and thought you could never do that, your wrong. Partner acro will help train the necessary muscle groups to perform these feats of strength and balance. Even if you are not necessarily big, or strong, you can still be very successful in partner acro because it primarily utilizes stabilizer muscles that don’t typically get used. Combine the training of these unused muscle groups with a little technique, and you will be amazed at what your own body can do.
Our origins with partner acro stem from our ballroom dance and circus training. During our dance training, we were fortunate enough to be taught many lifts and tricks. We developed a thirst for more tricks, bigger, and better. Then we joined the circus and continued to do just that. We started on a venture that we are still on today, combining dance, hand to hand, acro
batics, and now partner acrobatics.
We take our experience teaching all of these forms of movement and then break every thing down into small, easy to manage accomplishments. This allows us to contour every pose and movement to your own individual strengths and abilities. Keeping with the healing and holistic values in yoga, our classes are positive and encouraging for all. You can always be sure of success, no matter how big or small, in our class.
